B L E A C H : Final Stand [RPG]
Are You Ready To Fight?
Strawberry and the Lack of Hollows [Completed]
19th-Jul-2006 11:14 am
Character(s): Ichigo, Rukia, Ishida and Orihime.
Location: Outside Karakura High School to the front of the Kurosaki Clinic, Earth
Content: Ichigo is finished with yet another day of school and begins the trek home.
Warnings: None

Finally. Free at last. School just didn’t seem to be what it used to be to Ichigo Kurosaki. Ever since he returned from the Soul Society, it seemed like such a minor thing. Why even bother? What he needed to do was improve as a shinigami, not learn about the history of what’s-his-name and what he did. And if anything it just put him in awkward situations. Ichigo was lucky that the hollow detector didn’t go off too often in school but he was sure that people would get suspicious of his constantly leaving class. At least now Rukia wasn’t around to make it look even worse.

Well, she wasn’t around too much.

The boy carefully took his bag and made his way out of the room, just as to not attract Keigo’s attention to himself. Today was not the day to deal with that kind of annoyance. Once outside, Ichigo slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out the small PDA. The Soul Society had replaced his hollow detector (though that still remained safely in his room, out of Kon’s reach) with the small device. Ichigo could see why. It had all kinds of communication uses and all that crap but it could be so complicated to use.

But now he just needed to check for hollows… and still no sign. That was peculiar. Hollows normally showed up sometime by now. It was already late in the day and nothing. Well… it looked like tonight would be easy for Ichigo.

He slipped the device back in his pocket and continued on his way home. With nothing else to do, there was no where to go. And with the lack of hollows, his nerves were already at their peak. Some rest would do him good.

Ah, she was just in time. Spotting the orange-haired male almost slouching out of the gates, she absently noted his trademark expression - did it really ever change? - and crossed over to where he was, her footfalls silent on the pavement as she came up behind him, her umbrella over her shoulder.

It had been drizzling earlier, and the air still had that freshly-laundered quality to it. Hm, she always liked times like these, where everything was momentarily silent after the rain; where the little creatures were just beginning to come out of hiding.

She'd been wandering around the entire day, and strangely enough, there was no sign of Hollows today, nor any sign of the arrankars. That little fact unsettled her, but she knew that there was nothing she could do about it. Ditching the idea of crashing Ichigo's class in favour of a visit to the park, she did just that, while surreptitiously waiting for the substitute shinigami to get off classes.

Darting in slightly as she stepped next to him, she looked up at the taller boy, a bemused expression on her features. "You walk as slow as ever, Ichigo."

19th-Jul-2006 03:57 pm (UTC)
Thoughts wandered through Ichigo's mind. Mostly pertaining to the lack of hollows or the rain. ...Rain. That was something he was never particularly fond of. He grimaced at the sky but was thankful that it was over even if the lingering humidity was still around.

"You walk as slow as ever, Ichigo."

Ichigo immediately stopped, completely started. "Rukia?!" What was she doing here all of a sudden? She had such a nasty habit of popping in at some of the worst times. (The worst would have to be when he first met her...) And now? What? A hollow? What?

"What are you doing here, Rukia?! Don't you have Soul Society stuff right now or something?"
19th-Jul-2006 04:09 pm (UTC)
She strolled along beside Ichigo, not above taunting him. Well, it was either this or punch him, but he didn't do anything stupid enough to warrant that.

"Tsk, there are other things I have to do too, you know. Besides, who knows when you'll get into trouble again?" she responded, midnight blue eyes twinkling with disguised amusement. She knew that Ichigo could take care of himself very, very well, but hey. It was all too easy to rile him up, and Rukia needed a little entertainment now and then.

That, and his annoyed expressions were always priceless.

19th-Jul-2006 05:02 pm (UTC)
"Yeah... well..." Ichigo had no real comment for Rukia's first statement. It made plenty of sense that she had other shinigami duties. They all did. And then... wait. What did she say?

"I do not get into trouble! And I can take perfect care of myself, Rukia!" Ichigo yelled. Wasn't she the one that landed herself in Soul Society prison... not that he'd bring that up again. That was just cold. He could never say such a thing... at least to Rukia. Maybe to someone like Renji he could. Yeah, probably.

"Well..." Ichigo crossed his arms. "What're you doin' here anyway?"
20th-Jul-2006 03:58 pm (UTC)
Waving off his spirited denials of general troublemaking, Rukia simply shrugged as she shut her umbrella, slinging it over her arm gracefully. It was strangely odd to be simply walking home with Ichigo like this. During the past few weeks - months, really - it had been one catastrophe after another; first with her capture and execution, then with the emergence of the terrible new beings called the arrankar.

She paused for a few moments, remembering when the two of them had simply strolled home after school, in the two months before she was arrested. Things had been simple then, in more ways than one. And now...

Now things were gradually getting complicated. Despite herself, Rukia had grown attached to the people here; Inoue and the ones who had gone to Soul Society to help her, and of course, the man who had saved her not once - but twice - Kurosaki Ichigo.

Best not to think about that at the moment. Speaking of Ichigo, however....

Ah well. He was going to find out sooner or later, anyway. Might as well be now.

"I accidentally jammed your window shut when I tried to get in," she replied casually, as if entering through windows instead of utilizing the main doors were the most natural events in the world. "So I was waiting for you to get off school to let me inside."

That, and... "You really need to oil that window once in awhile, you know."
22nd-Jul-2006 03:15 am (UTC)
Hmm. Rukia was strangely quiet today. Ichigo could only imagine why. Hollows were also strangely quiet. Maybe they were connected? Maybe Rukia came to warn him about something? Aizen was on the move again? What? What?

Ichigo stopped in his tracks when he heard Rukia's real explanation. "You what?"

He knew it! Right from the start he knew it! Rukia was a burglar! She broke into windows and jammed them shut! The nerve. The nerve.

"You are going to fix that Rukia! What am I supposed to tell my family? A burgler tried to get into my room but failed miserably?"

Forget the hollows. Rukia was quiet nuthin'.
24th-Jul-2006 02:06 pm (UTC)
Aaaand there he went again. Ichigo really went off on a tangent on the most insignificant things.

"It's just a window," Rukia responded idly, not disturbed in the least. If the guy had given her the house keys, she wouldn't have had to climb in through the window, right?

Oh, the indignity!

She said as much to Ichigo - she knew how much he hated the way she overdramatized things, especially when she was taking a leaf out of a few Shakespeare books - complete with dramatic actions that were more to rile him up than to pacify him.

And, of course, the last act from the brilliant actress herself, the damsel-in-distress schtick, smirking all the while. "You're asking me, a mere lady to take on the arduous task of fixing the window? How ungentlemanly!"
26th-Jul-2006 06:40 pm (UTC)
Rukia... sheesh. Sometimes she would get made like he wanted her too. It was at least easier to argue that way. The of course there were those times where she just wouldn't respond at all. She'd do her cute little thing that his father loved so much and make Ichigo look like the bad guy.

Ichigo shifted the weight of his bookbag. "Sorry, okay? You don't have to fix the window. Just try and use the door next time. It's not like you have to hide from my father anymore. That and my sister's love you."

They were already nearing home. Ichigo could see it just down the block. Large letters that read 'Kurosaki Clinic' gave it away in an instant. Today looked like it was pretty quiet though. There weren't too many people around.

Well, no hollows no injuries, right?
29th-Jul-2006 03:24 pm (UTC)
The bell rang. Finally. Ishida stood up from his chair, grabbing his school bag and putting it on his shoulder as the chair scrapped against the floor. He set his middle finger on his nose and pushed up his glasses as he walked out of the room.

Clack, clack, clack. Ishida's shoes hit the hard floor of the hallway as he walked down it, heading toward the main entrance to the school. He walked out, passing through a flood of student's. He pushed his school bag up farther on his shoulder and walked down to the sidewalk. He stopped, checking his bag. Good. His things for weork were there. He started walking again.

Before he knew it, Ishida was half way to Sunflower Seams, his work place. He glanced at his watch. He was already late. As he was about to start running, something caught his eyes. Rukia Kuchiki. Shinigami. Former Karakura High School Student. Why was she here? Rukia wasn't generally around unless she needed to be...

"Rukia, what are you doing here?" Ishida asked, stopped about a foot or two away from her. What could possibly be happening to bring her here? Some sort of disturbance, obilviously. But what kind? Hollows? No, Kurosaki could take care of hollows.
31st-Jul-2006 02:01 am (UTC)
A pleased Rukia was about to respond to Ichigo's last statement when Ishida's voice caught her attention. Turning to the source, her expression brightened slightly. She hadn't known Ishida as well as she would've liked, but he had done alot for them, and considering he had sewn her a really beautiful dress...

"Ishida," Rukia greeted pleasantly, a slight wave punctuating her greeting. Really, was it so surprising for her to be here? The arrankar were still around, and that meant that the shinigami who were here could not go back, in case anything untoward happened. They needed all their forces present to counter the potential attack.

Now, however, things were so quiet that Rukia had been left wondering.

Catching the worried look in his eye, Rukia shook her head. Perhaps it was to placate his worries a little? "I was waiting for Ichigo to get off class. His window jammed again, and I couldn't get in."

She smiled slightly, conveniently leaving out the fact that she was the one who jammed the damned window in the first place.
31st-Jul-2006 02:12 am (UTC)
Ishida? What was he doing here? The Quincy was never seen around the Kurosaki Clinic. Never. What brought him here now? Well... he was always good at sensing spiritual pressure. Maybe he sensed Rukia's and suspected something as well. Yeah! That had to be it! Why else would Ishida come here?

Frusteration started to escalate, though, when the conversation commenced. He could only listen through Rukia's reply before saying, "Oi! How about you two don't talk about me as if I'm not here? You're at my house for crying out loud!"

The substitute shinigami looked angrily away from the two and crossed his arms. What was up with these two? Was it 'pick on Ichigo' day or what? Sheesh.
4th-Aug-2006 02:01 am (UTC)
So there wasn't anything wrong. Okay, that was a bit better. Just as Ishida was about to respond to Rukia, that orange dot in the corner of his vision that he hadn't really noticed shouted and he realized it was Kurosaki.

Ishida hadn't even noticed he was infront of the Clinic he usually passed. He passed it every day on the way to work, it was kind of an ordinary sight. Nothing out of the ordinary at all...he didn't even notice it was Kurosaki's home. When he looked closely at the sign, it did say Kurosaki Clinic.

"I didn't even know this was you're house, Kurosaki."

9th-Aug-2006 04:19 pm (UTC)
Orihime hummed some random jumble of a tune to herself as she went, bearing a sunny smile that fit seamlessly with her bright hair. Today was going to be a good day, she was sure of it. School had been dull, especially without Tatsuki out sick for the day... but a bad cold wasn't really anything to get too worried about. Plus, it gave her an even better reason to go visit her friend. Something she hadn't been doing enough of lately; she didn't want Tatsuki to think she was avoiding her or anything like that. Never. Just, things had been such a mess lately --

But today was going to be different, no matter what! Orihime bet anything that a visit would help Tatsuki feel better in no time at all. No common cold could withstand the overpowering strength of friendship!

Still, much as she wanted to see Tatsuki, there was a tiny part of her that was glad her route just happened to take her past the Kurosaki clinic. Admittedly, the place didn't hold too many pleasant memories for her. The only time she'd ever actually gone inside was when her brother had been in his accident. But it wasn't like Orihime to hold a grudge (especially not against a building!), and it was Ichigo's house. It wasn't like she ever really expected him to notice her strolling by and come out to say hello or anything, but...

What she really didn't expect to see was to see was Ichigo, Rukia, and Ishida all standing and chatting right there in the middle of the sidewalk. Instantly, she worried that something might have happened. Ichigo and Rukia were one thing, but to see Ishida along with them...

"Kurosaki-kun, Kuchiki-san!, " she called, waving cheerfully as she made her way over. "Ishida-kun! It's been awhile!" Outside of school, she hadn't really seen much of the Quincy at all lately. "Is everything alright? , " she asked, a touch of concern creeping into her voice. None of them seemed too worried, though. (Ichigo looked grumpy, but he always wore that face.)
10th-Aug-2006 03:39 am (UTC)
Rukia blinked at Ichigo's sudden outburst. Really, she hadn't thought that the guy would be that touchy about them talking about him, but in all fairness, yeah, he probably had a right to be pissed off.

Fixing him with a deliberately bland look; something that was aimed at annoying him a little more, Rukia responded impishly. "Honestly, Ichigo, if you wanted to tell Ishida about your faulty window, it's fine by me, too. And technically, we're not in your house. Unless you count the sidewalk as your property." A wicked half-smile to complete the effect, and--

Oh, Inoue!

Perking up, Rukia waved her over. The affable redhead had become a good friend of hers during the past couple of months, which was saying something, since friendship did not come easily to one like her. "Inoue!" the dark haired shinigami called. "Hello!"
10th-Aug-2006 09:02 pm (UTC)
A hand found its way to Ichigo's face and slowly dragged down in misery. "You have to be kidding me!" That same hand shot to the side and pointed to the sign above the building's door. "It says 'KUROSAKI clinic'! How do you miss that!"

Ichigo's rage dimmed down considerably when Orihime joined the trio. What was this? A party at his house or what? That blasted father of his must have planned something.

"Hey Ino--- what!? No! Why does my window have to do with anything anymore? And yes, I do consider my sidewalk part of my property!"

After yet a second spurt of rage, Ichigo calmed once again. "Well..." A hand reached up and scratched at the back of his neck uncomfortably. "You guys don't have to all hang out front here anyway. You can come inside and have something to eat or something... you just have to watch out for my crazy father..."
14th-Aug-2006 10:27 pm (UTC)
Ishida looked at Ichigo with a rather simple face through his the lenses of his glasses, one that said, "Yes, now get on with it." When he'd finished his little rant, the young "quincy" was about to turn and leave, when he saw Inoue Orihime.

That was true. Ishida hadn't seen the girl in a while. Or anyone really. He'd been very...busy. But enough of that thought.

"Hello, Orihime-chan." Ishida said, only just before hearing the offer from Kurosaki. Well, he really should be getting to work, but he'd been working shifts every day for a chunk of his time, a decent chunk at that. The manager would understand him.

It'd been a while since he'd seen his friends anyway, particularly Orihime. Ishida decided to join them for the afternoon. There was no harm in it. The "quincy" nodded.
16th-Aug-2006 07:43 am (UTC)
Sometimes, Isshin hated school. Sure, he didn't attend it anymore, no sir, but he really missed having his beautiful daughters around. He even missed that punk he called a son. Strange, really.

And now he was rather bored. There were things he could be doing... like maybe cleaning out the garage, making his bed, rearranging the pantry, or even switching around the clothes in Ichigo's closet for fun. Yet, he had no desire to do so, even though the expression on Ichigo's face would be absolutely priceless. Thus, he was bored-- oh so bored. He had wasted his day away so far by putzing around in his elephant-shaped slippers, reading random magazines and occasionally doing some filing.

As he passed by the front of the clinic, Isshin heard voices. No, not the bad kind. In fact, it was the very good kind of voices. The kind that meant people and social contact were just a moment away. His expression brightened even more when he heard a familiar voice (well, technically it two, there was Ichigo, but he didn't count)--- the voice of one beloved Rukia. Ah Rukia! The sweet, beloved, wonderful, beautiful, innocent Rukia. This, of course, was a rare sight, so he immediately jumped to the task of greeting her.

No literally, leaping.

The doors of the Kurosaki clinic flew open like someone passing gas after inhaling 16 glasses of coca-cola. Fast, furious, and ultimately--- pretty deadly. An Isshin-shaped blur came out of said doors, arching through the air like an arrow.

"IIIIIIIIIIIICCHHHIIIGOOOOOOOO!!!" Elephant-slippered feet were aimed straight for the bull's eye known as Ichigo's head.
22nd-Aug-2006 01:22 pm (UTC)
Oh good gods above Ichigo was going to die.

Staring wide-eyed at the enormous, hairy, Isshin-sized wall of a man come flying out through the clinic doors, Rukia was definitely sure that Ichigo would never be done in by any of Aizen's arrankar, or Hollow, but by the older Kurosaki.

Oh yes sir.

Rukia barely had time to warn Ichigo of the impending doom, and she could only step to a safe distance - namely, next to Ishida - as she watched Ichigo's parental unit fly at him like that Duracell rabbit on speed. (She'd always liked that Duracell bunny; it was so cute!!)

Briefly, Rukia wondered, If Ichigo died, who's gonna fix his faulty window?
22nd-Aug-2006 10:14 pm (UTC)
"What the heck is this guy doing?"

Above and out of view of the students on the side-walk, Hirako floated lightly in the sky like a cloud. He crossed his arms irritably. "Shouldn't this guy be worrying about his inner hollow? I mean he can only control it for 11 seconds, and he's out here relaxing and having a party?"

Things like that irritated Shinji. Suddenly his cellular rang. He pulled his small red phone from his pocket and looked at the caller i.d. It was Hiyori again. "What is it?" He asked into the phone, still looking down at Ichigo and the group. "Yeah I know that...Well he doesn't seem to realize what's going on right now. Of course I realize there haven't been many hollows in Karakura. Well what do you want me to do to Ichigo? Just grab him? I'm sure he'll come back to us sooner or later. Just relax Hiyori. What? FINE I'll pick up a Come Come Paradise for Lisa...yeah sure I'll grab Love a jump. Alright later" Shinji's eyes never left Kurosaki. He snapped the phone shut and slipped it back into his jacket pocket.

"Back to the Vaizard's place now. Oh wait, I have to pick up that crap for those guys. What a drag."
24th-Aug-2006 01:08 pm (UTC)
Oh dear god no.

It was all a blur, really, but a conditioned blur... one Ichigo was ready for. The teenager crouched as low as possible, feeling his father's well aimed feet just graze his hair. As soon as Ichigo was positive that he was in the clear, he whipped around and pointed a finger at Isshin.

"Moron! What the hell do you think you're doing?! Is that the way to treat your son when he returns home from school?!" His voice was loud and booming but that was just something that his father and the neighbors would have to deal with.

Ichigo was about to retaliate with a full out attack when a different reitsu washed over him. He knew this feeling.

Shinji... what was he doing here?

Who was here? He had to check. Well, his father for one. Rukia... Ishida... Orihime... Okay. Good enough. He could explain to everyone later. Orihime had already met Shinji before so it wouldn’t be too hard. And his father… well. It wasn’t allowed to know anyway. So there. That’ll be his revenge for attacking him like he did.

“I… left something at school.” Ichigo suddenly said, sliding his bag onto his shoulder more comfortably and darting off in the direction of Shinji (which was thankfully the same direction the school was in). He called back, “I’ll be back soon! Just wait for me!”

And with that he was off. It took awhile for Ichigo to finally catch up to Shinji.

“Oi!” He called out to the viazard. “Hey Shinji! Get down here! What were you doing at my house!”
24th-Aug-2006 06:02 pm (UTC)
After leaving Kurosaki's house, Hirako jumped at hearing some loud, gruff boy yelling in his direction. He turned around and saw no one, then realized he was still in the air. He looked down again and saw the bright orange hair and the waving arms. Then Shinji looked around worried. People would think he was some kind of flying alien or something.

"You idiot! How dumb will you look yelling at some man in the sky! People freak out from those kinds of things! Haven't you ever watched the sci-fi channel???" Hirako yelled himself, cupping his hands around his mouth. Then he froze. People would see him yelling too! At that he dropped suddenly, landing softly on his feet. He put his hands in his pockets, and softly treaded towards Ichigo. He whistled softly, looking around to see if anyone noticed him. This Kurosaki kid was so uncool.

He smiled his toothy smile, and tipped his flatcap up his head, a welcoming gesture. "So Kurosaki...despite the fact you've barely managed to contain your inner hollow, you have no problem surrounding yourself with friends?" Shinji smiled even more. He flicked his index finger back and forth "Tsk Tsk Kurosaki-kun."
24th-Aug-2006 10:41 pm (UTC)
Ichigo stopped immediately when the viazard yelled back it him. The sci-fi channel what? What did that have to do with anything? And in all honesty, the teenager never laid eyes on it before. What did that matter?

But Shinji... he was the same as ever. Ichigo noticed as soon as he saw that trademark grin of his.

"The hollow?" He crossed his arms. "Why bring that up now? There hasn't been a hollow, much less and arrankar, around for days. And I have to continue with school just so I'm not suspicious to everyone you know! I can't just disappear form existence like you guys!"

Ichigo paused. He never pictured himself as one who was 'surrounded by friends'. "If you would to know though," he continued. "They all found me, is more like it. And hey! You never answered my questions! What were you doing at my house? What's going on?"
25th-Aug-2006 12:00 am (UTC)
"Tsk Tsk Kurosaki-kun." Hirako repeated his gesture, still smiling with his stupid grin. "Always so pushy and loud" Shinji stated rather bluntly, now studying his fingernails.

"But it's nothing to worry about really, just a routine check-up." He looked passed Ichigo towards the direction of his home. "It looked to me like a party. Strange that I wasn't invited, aye Kurosaki?" Shinji lifted his eyebrows jokingly. "To be around Orihime-chan again. I think she likes me, I mean compared to who she usually hangs around with..." Hirako's eyes met Ichigo's, and he saw the shinigami's anger flare in his face. He put his hands out harmlessly, "Relax Kurosaki, I obviously kid."

Hirako put his hands back in his pockets, and pushed his hat lower over his eyes, adding a mysterious aura to the situation. "I was just watching you to make sure you were well aware that you and the vaizored have unfinished business. The others are waiting on you to finish your training." Then Hirako looked up into the sky at the clouds.

"Although something has been bothering me. Things have been really quiet around this town. None of the Espada, arrankaru, or even a decent hollow have showed up in a long time" He turned and met eyes with Ichigo again. "And to be quite honest, my hollow hasn't exactly been around my head lately."

Surely Ichigo must have felt it too.
27th-Aug-2006 01:24 am (UTC)
Ishida had almost reached to his cross as he saw a blurr of what was later announced as Kurosaki's father. ...That had been the most intresting thing he'd seen in quite a while. After the initial shock, of course, it was almost funny.

Looking to his side, Ishida found that Rukia had come over to get out of the way of the crazy, flying Kurosaki father.

A sudden feeling spiked through the young quincy. A new reiatsu. Eye darting around immediatly for the source, Ishida felt it leave. But why was Kurosaki going in the same direction as it? Well, seeing as the friendship gathering was suddenly disbanded, the young man should really be getting to work. No point in missing now.

"...I should really be getting to work. Excuse me," Ishida told them as he started to walk away.
30th-Aug-2006 03:07 pm (UTC)
Ichigo frowned and crossed his arms. A routine check-up? That was almost creepy. The vaizards felt that they had to watch him? Though he hadn't mastered the ability to use his hollow, he at least was able to repress it. The whole thought brought the word 'stalkers' to mind but the teenager decided it was best to not bring it up.

"Tch. Yeah yeah... Unfinished buisness." Ichigo replied. "You know I still have to go to school unless I want everyone to know I died or something. Do you know how hard it was to convince them I was merely in the hospital for a month?"

Then he stopped. His hollow was... quiet? That wasn't normal? "Your hollow hasn't been in your head? I thought once you had enough control over it after awhile it just stayed quiet until you needed it..."
30th-Aug-2006 06:36 pm (UTC)
Shinji looked grave from Ichigo's response.

"Well..that's sort of an easy explanation for it." He said as he looked into Ichigo's eyes. Hirako didn't think Ichigo was entirely wrong. In fact that is what Hirako himself thought. The rest of the vaizored thought the same thing. But something was eerily unsettling about what was going on inside their heads. Usually if need be, a shinigami could talk to their soul-slayer. The same could be said for a Vizard and his inner hollow. But now each time that Hirako attempted to speak with his hollow in the inner world, he would find it empty. And silent.

It was indeed eerie. Hirako looked off passed Ichigo. Maybe he was just worrying over nothing? Maybe..

Hirako figured it would be best if he tried not to worry about it. Although the lack of hollows was a bit off-set as well. Despite that, Hiyori and the others didn't worry so much. "Maybe I'm just being a worry-wart." Shinji said sighing, pulling his hat downward. Then he spoke again,

"Regardless Kurosaki, I think it would be best if you try to talk to your hollow" Shinji said looking up again. Hirako put his hands in his pockets and whistled. "Well the others expect me back soon, so I think I'll have my leave" Hirako said turning and began walking. Over his shoulder, waving, Shinji yelled out "Say hello to Orihime for me!"
3rd-Sep-2006 10:10 pm (UTC)
An easy explanation? Well... what was it then? That was always a pet peeve of Ichigo. If someone was going to start a thought, they might as well finish it, not trail off as if they never said anything at all. Sheesh. People these days...

Ichigo crossed his arms. "Yeah maybe." He answered gruffly. But wasn't this an act? Hirako seemed to be genuinely worried about his hollow. Does that mean something was wrong with Ichigo's too? Sure, the guy was a pain, loud, obnoxious... the list goes on, but Ichigo needed his power should any arrankar show up.

"Okay," the shinigami nodded. "I'll try to talk to him. I doubt it'll work but I'll try."

And then... he was off. Again. Ichigo groaned. That was so like him.
